Feature:
The measure of area of Eternal Golden Castle is around 3 hectares and was designed by a France architect. It was said that the materials were bought from Sia-men and Cyuanjhou chow and some bricks were from Fort Zeelandia.
This castle was designed into a square platform and was equipped cannons at the 4 corner bations. The central area was a practice place. There are moats at each side like a protection. The castle was equipped with 5 eighty-tons artilleries, 4 forty-tons artilleries and 4 twenty-pounds artilleries.
Experienced several destruction and repairment, now only drawbridge, moat, front door, training site, the artilleries and the support wall can be recognized. They used bricks as foundation for the fortress and they built a circle road inside the platform to connect to each fortress.
Under the fortress, it had granary, kitchen and ammunition depot. Training site is in the center of this castle and outside the war, the moat is to prevent enemies from invasion. There was a wooden drawbridge across the moat and usually it's for transportation of supplies.
When emergency, they lift up the drawbridge so that the enemy can not attack the castle. However this drawbridge has been destroyed during Japanese colonization. They repair it by reinforced concrete and this is the bridge what we can see now.
